# Topical Dictionary vs Leafwords

The clearest difference is monetization model: Leafwords at free against Topical Dictionary's ad-supported. Leafwords also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 26.0). Topical Dictionary's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Topical Dictionary ships an update fortnightly, Leafwords monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
