# Topical Dictionary vs Web Technology

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Topical Dictionary at none against Web Technology's 1. Topical Dictionary also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 16 months). Web Technology's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Web Technology sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Topical Dictionary asks for nothing beyond the download.

Topical Dictionary ships an update fortnightly, Web Technology every 16 months. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
