# Nexgrill vs Masterbuilt

The clearest difference is rating: Masterbuilt at 4.7 against Nexgrill's 1.9. Masterbuilt also leads on ratings volume (12K vs 53). Nexgrill's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Masterbuilt holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Masterbuilt has 12K ratings behind it against 53, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 13% and 13% positive.

Nexgrill ships an update monthly, Masterbuilt every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
