# CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep vs CertFlash

The clearest difference is update cadence: CertFlash at every 6 days against CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep's every 5 weeks. CertFlash also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep's advantage is ratings volume (2.2K vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month and CertFlash sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CertFlash holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep has 2.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

CompTIA A+ & Security + Prep ships an update every 5 weeks, CertFlash every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
