# Yik Yak vs FlowCode

The clearest difference is rating: FlowCode at 4.7 against Yik Yak's 3.9. FlowCode also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). Yik Yak's advantage is review sentiment (25% vs 0%) and ratings volume (51K vs 20). On price, update cadence, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Yik Yak sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. FlowCode asks for nothing beyond the download.

FlowCode holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Yik Yak has 51K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Yik Yak's written reviews are positive against 0% of FlowCode's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and September 20, 2026 respectively.
