# Universal remote control vs AC Remote

The clearest difference is rating: AC Remote at 4.5 against Universal remote control's 1.0. AC Remote also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (212 vs 2). Universal remote control's advantage is update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 16.0).
