# Chap vs Milestone

The clearest difference is rating: Milestone at 5.0 against Chap's 4.5. Milestone also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Chap's advantage is ratings volume (285 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chap sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Milestone sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Milestone holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chap has 285 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of Chap's written reviews are positive against 100% of Milestone's.

Chap ships an update fortnightly, Milestone every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
