# Pedometer World vs Step

The clearest difference is rating: Step at 4.7 against Pedometer World's 4.0. Step also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (68 vs 6). Pedometer World's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pedometer World sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Step sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Step holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Step has 68 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Pedometer World's written reviews are positive against 96% of Step's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pedometer World ships an update fortnightly, Step weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
