# NEXT vs Flames Stories

NEXT and Flames Stories both sit at 4.4 stars, but that hides the real split: 76% of Flames Stories's written reviews are positive against 24% of NEXT's. NEXT's advantage is ratings volume (140 vs 24) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NEXT sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Flames Stories sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for NEXT against 4.4 for Flames Stories. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NEXT has 140 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 24% of NEXT's written reviews are positive against 76% of Flames Stories's.

NEXT ships an update every 2 weeks, Flames Stories every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
