# NEXT vs Ascent

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ascent at every 3 days against NEXT's every 2 weeks. NEXT's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NEXT sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Ascent sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

NEXT ships an update every 2 weeks, Ascent every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
