# Haze Explr vs PastFinders

The clearest difference is monetization model: Haze Explr at free against PastFinders's free with in-app purchases. Haze Explr also leads on ratings volume (933 vs 5) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 26.0). PastFinders's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Haze Explr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.00 per month and PastFinders sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PastFinders holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Haze Explr has 933 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Haze Explr's written reviews are positive against 100% of PastFinders's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
