# Trops vs Met Opera

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Trops at 100% against Met Opera's 57%. Trops also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Met Opera's advantage is ratings volume (4.1K vs 15) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Met Opera holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Met Opera has 4.1K ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Trops's written reviews are positive against 57% of Met Opera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trops ships an update every 2 days, Met Opera fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
