# Scan to PDF－Document Scanner vs PDF Scanner Extra

The clearest difference is review sentiment: PDF Scanner Extra at 80% against Scan to PDF－Document Scanner's 28%. PDF Scanner Extra also leads on ads (none vs shown). Scan to PDF－Document Scanner's advantage is ratings volume (62K vs 34) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Scan to PDF－Document Scanner sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and PDF Scanner Extra sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scan to PDF－Document Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scan to PDF－Document Scanner has 62K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of Scan to PDF－Document Scanner's written reviews are positive against 80% of PDF Scanner Extra's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Scan to PDF－Document Scanner ships an update every 3 weeks, PDF Scanner Extra fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
