# Dune vs SW

The clearest difference is price: SW at Free against Dune's $10.99. SW also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (100% vs 79%). Dune's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 17 months) and ratings volume (5K vs 7). On rating, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

SW is free to download; Dune costs $10.99 up front. Dune sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. SW asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Dune against 5.0 for SW. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Dune has 5K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 79% of Dune's written reviews are positive against 100% of SW's.

Dune ships an update every 5 days, SW every 17 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
