# Rockstar Magic vs The Grid

The clearest difference is update cadence: The Grid at every 3 months against Rockstar Magic's every 29 months. The Grid also leads on iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rockstar Magic ships an update every 29 months, The Grid every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
