# JotNotes vs Notebook

The clearest difference is ads: JotNotes at none against Notebook's shown. JotNotes also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks). Notebook's advantage is ratings volume (523 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.2). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. JotNotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Notebook sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

JotNotes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 523 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of JotNotes's written reviews are positive against 71% of Notebook's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

JotNotes ships an update every 3 days, Notebook every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
