# MODBOX vs AddonCraft

The clearest difference is ads: AddonCraft at none against MODBOX's shown. AddonCraft also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). MODBOX's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (406 vs 18). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MODBOX sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and AddonCraft sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MODBOX holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MODBOX has 406 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 76% of MODBOX's written reviews are positive against 80% of AddonCraft's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MODBOX ships an update every 2 weeks, AddonCraft fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
