# PrepHero vs MealPlanet

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MealPlanet at 96% against PrepHero's 50%. MealPlanet also leads on rating (4.6 vs 1.0) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months). PrepHero's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MealPlanet holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MealPlanet has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of PrepHero's written reviews are positive against 96% of MealPlanet's.

PrepHero ships an update every 4 months, MealPlanet fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
