# Moon Note vs Eclipse

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Eclipse at 93% against Moon Note's 43%. Eclipse also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). Moon Note's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Moon Note sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Eclipse sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $7.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Moon Note ships an update every 2 months, Eclipse every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
