# Trimlight Edge vs Rain Bird 2.0

The clearest difference is rating: Rain Bird 2.0 at 4.6 against Trimlight Edge's 2.7. Rain Bird 2.0 also leads on ratings volume (8.2K vs 417) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Trimlight Edge's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rain Bird 2.0 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rain Bird 2.0 has 8.2K ratings behind it against 417, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Trimlight Edge's written reviews are positive against 17% of Rain Bird 2.0's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trimlight Edge ships an update every 2 months, Rain Bird 2.0 every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
