# BASE Network vs Secure Proxy

The clearest difference is ads: BASE Network at none against Secure Proxy's shown. BASE Network also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). Secure Proxy's advantage is ratings volume (208 vs 4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BASE Network holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Proxy has 208 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
