# ASD vs First Sounds

The clearest difference is update cadence: First Sounds at every 3 weeks against ASD's every 14 months. ASD's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ASD sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and First Sounds sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ASD ships an update every 14 months, First Sounds every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
