# iTOMA vs QR Reader for mobile

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: iTOMA at none against QR Reader for mobile's 3. iTOMA also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). QR Reader for mobile's advantage is ratings volume (9.9K vs 2) and review sentiment (71% vs 50%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. QR Reader for mobile sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. iTOMA asks for nothing beyond the download.

iTOMA holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: QR Reader for mobile has 9.9K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of iTOMA's written reviews are positive against 71% of QR Reader for mobile's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iTOMA ships an update every 2 months, QR Reader for mobile every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
