# 新东方比邻中文 vs Basic

The clearest difference is update cadence: 新东方比邻中文 at every 5 weeks against Basic's every 21 months. Basic's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 新东方比邻中文 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Basic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

新东方比邻中文 ships an update every 5 weeks, Basic every 21 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
