# MX Player vs Liveland

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Liveland at 100% against MX Player's 57%. Liveland also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ads (none vs shown). MX Player's advantage is ratings volume (4.9K vs 3) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MX Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Liveland asks for nothing beyond the download.

MX Player holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MX Player has 4.9K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of MX Player's written reviews are positive against 100% of Liveland's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MX Player ships an update every 3 weeks, Liveland every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
