# Date Today vs Calendar Widget

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Calendar Widget at none against Date Today's 1. Calendar Widget also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.1) and review sentiment (58% vs 29%). Date Today's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Date Today sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Calendar Widget asks for nothing beyond the download.

Calendar Widget holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Calendar Widget has 236 ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of Date Today's written reviews are positive against 58% of Calendar Widget's.

Date Today ships an update every 4 days, Calendar Widget every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
