# Interval Timer vs Intervals

The clearest difference is ads: Interval Timer at none against Intervals's shown. Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (149 vs 9) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). Intervals's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Interval Timer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Intervals sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 149 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Interval Timer ships an update every 5 months, Intervals every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
