# Dragontone vs MathApex

The clearest difference is update cadence: MathApex at every 3 weeks against Dragontone's every 8 months. Dragontone's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dragontone sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and MathApex sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dragontone ships an update every 8 months, MathApex every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
