# TargetIR vs Thermal Master

The clearest difference is rating: TargetIR at 4.1 against Thermal Master's 2.5. Thermal Master's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 weeks) and review sentiment (36% vs 28%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TargetIR holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 2.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 8 and 15 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 28% of TargetIR's written reviews are positive against 36% of Thermal Master's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TargetIR ships an update every 5 weeks, Thermal Master every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
