# Assignr vs NorCal

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Assignr at 73% against NorCal's 29%. Assignr also leads on rating (4.9 vs 2.8) and ratings volume (8.3K vs 12). NorCal's advantage is monetization model (free vs subscription) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Assignr holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Assignr has 8.3K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Assignr's written reviews are positive against 29% of NorCal's.

Assignr ships an update every 6 weeks, NorCal every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
