# Synthy vs Summary

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Synthy at 384 against Summary's 38. Synthy also leads on iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Synthy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Summary sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Summary holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synthy has 384 ratings behind it against 38, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Synthy's written reviews are positive against 82% of Summary's.

Synthy ships an update monthly, Summary every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
