# Synthy vs PocketNote

The clearest difference is update cadence: PocketNote at every 5 days against Synthy's monthly. PocketNote also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and review sentiment (100% vs 81%). Synthy's advantage is ratings volume (384 vs 14) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Synthy sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and PocketNote sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PocketNote holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Synthy has 384 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 81% of Synthy's written reviews are positive against 100% of PocketNote's.

Synthy ships an update monthly, PocketNote every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
