# Pocket Chess vs Chess

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Chess at none against Pocket Chess's 9. Chess also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). Pocket Chess's advantage is ratings volume (15K vs 1) and chart position (#93 vs unranked). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pocket Chess sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Chess asks for nothing beyond the download.

Chess holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pocket Chess has 15K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
