# Slingshot vs Smart Switch

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Smart Switch at 54% against Slingshot's 9%. Smart Switch also leads on ratings volume (745 vs 1). Slingshot's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Slingshot holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Switch has 745 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 9% of Slingshot's written reviews are positive against 54% of Smart Switch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Slingshot ships an update every 3 weeks, Smart Switch monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
