# Hexoboy vs Fox Fire

The clearest difference is update cadence: Fox Fire at every 4 days against Hexoboy's every 6 months. Hexoboy's advantage is review sentiment (91% vs 70%) and ratings volume (48 vs 9). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hexoboy sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Fox Fire sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Hexoboy against 4.4 for Fox Fire. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hexoboy has 48 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 91% of Hexoboy's written reviews are positive against 70% of Fox Fire's.

Hexoboy ships an update every 6 months, Fox Fire every 4 days. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
