# Catalyst Training vs Playbook Pal

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Playbook Pal at none against Catalyst Training's 12. Playbook Pal also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). Catalyst Training's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.6). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Catalyst Training sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Playbook Pal asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Catalyst Training against 5.0 for Playbook Pal. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Catalyst Training has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Catalyst Training ships an update fortnightly, Playbook Pal every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
