# CDL Permit Practice Test Prep vs CDL Prep

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CDL Prep at 50% against CDL Permit Practice Test Prep's 25%. CDL Permit Practice Test Prep's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 153). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Permit Practice Test Prep sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and CDL Prep sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL Permit Practice Test Prep holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Permit Practice Test Prep has 1.2K ratings behind it against 153, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of CDL Permit Practice Test Prep's written reviews are positive against 50% of CDL Prep's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
