# Ghost Detector & Spirit Box vs Sonic Eject

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sonic Eject at free with in-app purchases against Ghost Detector & Spirit Box's subscription. Sonic Eject also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 12.0). Ghost Detector & Spirit Box's advantage is ratings volume (4.1K vs 17). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost Detector & Spirit Box sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Sonic Eject sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Ghost Detector & Spirit Box against 4.5 for Sonic Eject. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost Detector & Spirit Box has 4.1K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Ghost Detector & Spirit Box ships an update every 2 months, Sonic Eject every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
