# Solitaire vs Solitaire Classic

Solitaire and Solitaire Classic both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 88% of Solitaire's written reviews are positive against 70% of Solitaire Classic's. Solitaire also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Solitaire sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and Solitaire Classic sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Solitaire Classic holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 38K and 37K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Solitaire's written reviews are positive against 70% of Solitaire Classic's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Solitaire ships an update every 2 weeks, Solitaire Classic every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
