# CarTrust vs Tygo

CarTrust and Tygo both sit at 4.0 stars, but that hides the real split: 67% of CarTrust's written reviews are positive against 29% of Tygo's. Tygo's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (489 vs 7). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for CarTrust against 3.9 for Tygo. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tygo has 489 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 67% of CarTrust's written reviews are positive against 29% of Tygo's.

CarTrust ships an update every 2 months, Tygo every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
