# Crowdabout vs State Railroad

The clearest difference is rating: Crowdabout at 4.7 against State Railroad's 4.1. Crowdabout also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). State Railroad's advantage is ratings volume (1.8K vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Crowdabout sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and State Railroad sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Crowdabout holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: State Railroad has 1.8K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Crowdabout ships an update every 5 days, State Railroad every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
