# Notes vs Next

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Next at none against Notes's 3. Next also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Notes's advantage is update cadence (every 3 months vs every 11 months) and device support. On price there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.49 per month. Next asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notes ships an update every 3 months, Next every 11 months. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
