# Fox vs Cave Runner 2D

The clearest difference is rating: Fox at 4.4 against Cave Runner 2D's 1.0. Fox also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks). Cave Runner 2D's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fox sells 11 one-off in-app purchases and Cave Runner 2D sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fox holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fox has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Fox's written reviews are positive against 100% of Cave Runner 2D's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Fox ships an update daily, Cave Runner 2D every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 26, 2026 respectively.
