# AppCrypt vs xBlock

The clearest difference is rating: xBlock at 4.7 against AppCrypt's 3.7. xBlock also leads on ratings volume (128 vs 7). AppCrypt's advantage is review sentiment (88% vs 59%) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppCrypt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and xBlock sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

xBlock holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: xBlock has 128 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of AppCrypt's written reviews are positive against 59% of xBlock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AppCrypt ships an update every 2 weeks, xBlock monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
