# AppCrypt vs AppLock

The clearest difference is rating: AppLock at 5.0 against AppCrypt's 3.7. AppCrypt's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AppCrypt sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and AppLock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AppLock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AppCrypt has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AppCrypt ships an update every 2 weeks, AppLock every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
