# Keepcool vs MGEN

The clearest difference is rating: MGEN at 2.0 against Keepcool's 1.0. MGEN also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). Keepcool's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 40%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

MGEN holds the better App Store score, 2.0 against 1.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 3 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Keepcool's written reviews are positive against 40% of MGEN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Keepcool ships an update monthly, MGEN fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
