# Insect ID vs Insect Identifier

Insect ID and Insect Identifier both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of Insect ID's written reviews are positive against 0% of Insect Identifier's. Insect Identifier's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Insect ID sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Insect Identifier sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Insect Identifier holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 87 and 37 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Insect ID's written reviews are positive against 0% of Insect Identifier's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
