# Ahaaa Math vs Reading Critters

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Ahaaa Math at 72% against Reading Critters's 25%. Ahaaa Math also leads on ratings volume (101 vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). Reading Critters's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and in-app purchases (none vs 8). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ahaaa Math sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Reading Critters asks for nothing beyond the download.

Reading Critters holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ahaaa Math has 101 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 72% of Ahaaa Math's written reviews are positive against 25% of Reading Critters's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ahaaa Math ships an update every 3 weeks, Reading Critters every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and September 9, 2026 respectively.
