# Font Maker vs Fontmaker

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Font Maker at 8.1K against Fontmaker's 419. Fontmaker's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 weeks) and review sentiment (35% vs 20%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Font Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Fontmaker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Font Maker against 4.5 for Fontmaker. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 8.1K ratings behind it against 419, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 20% of Font Maker's written reviews are positive against 35% of Fontmaker's.

Font Maker ships an update every 4 weeks, Fontmaker every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
