# Font Maker vs Diary with Lock

The clearest difference is rating: Font Maker at 4.4 against Diary with Lock's 3.7. Font Maker also leads on ratings volume (8.2K vs 3). Diary with Lock's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (50% vs 20%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Font Maker sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Diary with Lock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $12.00 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Font Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Font Maker has 8.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Font Maker's written reviews are positive against 50% of Diary with Lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Font Maker ships an update every 4 weeks, Diary with Lock every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
